Spoiler warning: This recap covers the full plot of Marshals Season 2 Episode 3, "Falling Sky," including the drone case, Kayce and Tate's argument, and the closing scenes with Cal and Andrea. For the bigger picture, see our Marshals Season 2 guide.
"Falling Sky" aired Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, on CBS. The case of the week is a military drone crash on Broken Rock, but the parts that will carry forward are at home: Tate's fear, Cal's chemotherapy, and Andrea's trouble feeling safe after her kidnapping.
The short version
A military test drone crashes on Broken Rock and kills a community member known as Uncle Charlie. The drone maker blames three young residents. The Marshals find out the company is covering up what the drone was carrying, and its representative, Gavin Escher, is arrested. At home, Kayce books Tate a therapy appointment and orders him to go when Tate refuses. Belle shows up at the hospital for Cal's first chemo session. Andrea is still sleeping at the office.
The drone case: who was really behind it
The Marshals are sent after Jacob Green and brothers Matthew and Koda Nash, who are accused of shooting the drone down. Gavin Escher (Callan McAuliffe), representing manufacturer Horus Avionics, points the finger at them, and the company is calling the three domestic terrorists, according to The Koalition's breakdown.
Jacob turns up dead, and fingerprints first make the Nash brothers look responsible. At an abandoned community center the team runs into gunmen and finds Matthew wounded. He tells them the drone was carrying explosives, which contradicts the company's story about harmless testing. The brothers had been filming what was flying over the reservation.
Kayce and Miles find Koda while another drone helps the gunmen track him. Miles puts on Koda's coat to draw fire away from him, and the team turns the ambush around. The gunmen are tied to Horus security, and Escher is arrested.

Miles and Rainwater under pressure from Broken Rock
Miles (Tatanka Means) first wants to sit the operation out because he does not want to damage his standing with the community. Andrea talks him into it by pointing to her late father, who worked to connect police with the neighborhood he served. He goes, and he comes out of the mission alive.
Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) gets pressure from inside the reservation. Shane Whitebear (Duke Davis Roberts) pitches a cannabis business, and Rainwater ends up backing it. Lawrence Green (Frankie Loyal), Jacob's father, brings the cost of the case straight to Rainwater. The cannabis plan is only approved in principle here, so expect it to come back.

Kayce, Tate, and the therapy appointment
Tate (Brecken Merrill) is practicing with a gun so he will be ready if he is threatened again. Kayce offers to take him fishing, which lands badly after Tate nearly drowned. Mo (Mo Brings Plenty) reads the buffalo that keeps appearing to Kayce as a sign about sacrifice and facing shame.
Kayce then tells Tate he has booked a therapy session for the next morning, something John Dutton would never have done. Tate refuses, and Kayce ends the argument by saying it is not optional. Seat42F notes that showrunner Spencer Hudnut pointed out the irony in a TVLine interview: Kayce is trying not to parent like his father, and in that moment he sounds exactly like him. The episode ends before the session, so we do not know yet whether Tate goes.

Cal starts chemo, and Belle shows up
Cal (Logan Marshall-Green) tells Kayce his doctor suspects his cancer is linked to his military service. The episode does not confirm that. He tells Belle (Arielle Kebbel) to stay away and look after her own responsibilities, but she comes to the hospital anyway and sits with him during treatment. The episode gives no word on his prognosis.
Andrea is still not okay
Andrea (Ash Santos) gets visibly uncomfortable while apartment hunting, and Belle notices. She is still sleeping at the office and still going through material on her father's murder. Ash Santos told Decider that Andrea no longer feels safe sleeping at home. The murder is not solved this week.
What comes next
Episode 4, "Blast Radius," airs Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Kayce and Andrea chase a bomber with a connection to Cal's past, and threats against Belle escalate. Episode 5 is titled "Secret Weapon," according to Bleeding Cool, and deals with accomplices, a bigger explosive, and anti-government anger.
